COVID-19 Information

Tulsa Counseling Group (“TCG”) uses information from the Oklahoma State Department of Health and other sources to develop its COVID-19 (“COVID”) precautions. These steps include practicing social distancing, routine cleaning, temperature checks, and wearing masks. Given the nature of the COVID pandemic, virtually any in-person social interactions create a risk of exposure - including during office visits at TCG. Clients should assume that any in-person interactions at TCG carry a risk of COVID exposure.

According to the World Health Organization, people with COVID are contagious up to two days prior to their first symptoms. If TCG becomes aware that an employee, therapist, or client tests positive for COVID, we will make reasonable attempts to contact people who were in the office during the estimated contagious period.

Given the volume of clients seen and Oklahoma's high number of cases, therapists may be at a higher risk of exposure to COVID than the general population. Therapists are asked to follow standard COVID precautions based on the most recent guidelines. Therapists have the option to quarantine if they have potentially had contact with a COVID-positive person, but are not required to do so. However, therapists will quarantine if they experience any symptoms associated with COVID or if they test positive.

If you are having symptoms associated with COVID or have been in recent contact with a COVID-positive individual, please call our main number at (918) 340-5510 to cancel, reschedule, or convert your appointment to Zoom. If you have any concerns about COVID, all TCG clients may request to conduct their sessions remotely via Zoom. If you would prefer to have a Zoom session, please contact the TCG office.

Circumstances may require that therapists conduct all of their sessions remotely via Zoom. If this occurs, TCG will contact those clients scheduled with that therapist to inform them of the change. The client may decline the remote option and cancel or reschedule.
